Legacy Partners

CSX is honored to work with long-time charitable partners at the national and local levels.

City Year

This national youth service organization strives to reduce student dropout rates by uniting student leaders with teachers and administrators to create safe, enriching learning environments. As the largest team site sponsor, CSX also provides thousands of volunteer hours with the City Year Care Force team each year by painting murals, refurbishing playgrounds, renovating schools and planting trees across 23 states and the District of Columbia. These efforts are also supported by CSX-supplied containers, filled with tools and equipment. Learn more about City Year.

FFA

FFA is a school-based, member-led, youth leadership organization that provides transformational and life-changing experiences to future generations of agricultural, food and natural resources advocates. These student–leaders are driven by strong values, service to others and global purpose. FFA members represent the next generation of leaders in industry, government and local communities. With support from CSX, FFA is able to grow leaders, build communities and strengthen agriculture by providing funds for leadership development, environmental grants, scholarships and service learning activities. Action For Healthy Kids

CSX joined forces with Action for Healthy Kids (AFHK) in 2013 to increase the number of kids becoming physically active. While this program encourages 30 minutes of physical activity during school hours, students are challenged to be active for 30 minutes or more after school. This grant also strives to improve student knowledge, attitudes and behaviors that surround physical activity. Through CSX’s support of AFHK’s School Grants for Healthy Kids program, grants have been awarded to more than 1,300 schools in 13 states. Learn more about Action For Healthy Kids.

The Conservation Fund

With a mission to preserve “special places” across America, The Conservation Fund (TCF) has protected more than 7 million acres of land and water in all 50 states, including parks, nature areas and historic battlefields. CSX has worked with TCF on tree-planting projects and is currently collaborating on a grant program designed to improve access to healthy food choices in underserved communities.
